Workout set types
Set types describe the purpose of your sets and affect how Reps displays and counts them.
What each set type means
- WWarm-up
- Lighter reps to get your body ready.
- 2Normal
- A regular working set.
- FFailure
- Push until you can't do another rep. Log the reps you finished.
- DDrop Set
- Lower the weight and keep going without rest. Continues the previous set.
- CCooldown
- Easy reps to wind down.
How Drop Sets work
A Drop Set is when you lower the weight in the middle of a set and continue without rest. It continues the previous set. Because of this, it cannot be the first set for an exercise.
Record the reps you complete at each weight during the Drop Set. When calculating your workout totals, the original set and any Drop Sets count as one completed set. The reps and volume from each weight are still included. If you have rest timers enabled, your rest timer will only start after the final Drop Set.
Warm-up and Cooldown statistics
Count Warm-up Sets and Count Cooldown Sets control whether these sets are included in your volume, stats, and PRs. Both settings are on by default in the Tracking & Stats section of Settings.
Changing either setting recalculates your existing stats and PRs. It does not change or remove the Warm-up or Cooldown sets saved in your History.
Set types in History and Routines
Set types remain visible in workouts saved to your History. If you repeat a workout, its set types will carry over. Routine templates also let you choose and save a type for each set.
